"Miss You" is the Stones doing straight disco- you cannot deny that.

"Far Away Eyes" is the Stones doing straight up country as is "No Spare Parts", a great song that did not make the album.

"Lies" is a punk song.

I realize the Stones are the Stones no matter what, but these are songs you can definately categorize just as much as you can say the early Stones cover songs were blues. "Exile" represents more of the Stones gathering up their influences and creating something new- the above songs are more the Stones doing a genre.

: Of course it was ahead of its time, I completely agree with that.
: But not because of the 'rap' thing. It came out, as you say, of what Mick listened to on the street, not the other way around as our good friend down there said.
: I would not label the Stones songs (i.e. country, disco, punk, rap, etc.): It's just the Stones, and nothing more.
: That's precisely what makes them what they are: THEY ARE JUST THEMSELVES, WITHOUT ANY LABELS OR CATEGORIES.
