Of course it was ahead of its time, I completely agree with that.
But not because of the 'rap' thing. It came out, as you say, of what Mick listened to on the street, not the other way around as our good friend down there said.
I would not label the Stones songs (i.e. country, disco, punk, rap, etc.): It's just the Stones, and nothing more.
That's precisely what makes them what they are: THEY ARE JUST THEMSELVES, WITHOUT ANY LABELS OR CATEGORIES.
