: I thought about this Live vs Studio thing over the weekend, and I finally came up with one song that I think is unquestionably better in the studio version. The live versions I have heard, both in person and on disc, don't come close to the sound or spirit of the original.

: The song - "Satisfaction". What think you?

Of cause when it comes to vocals, most studio cuts of any song sounds better no matter who the singer is.
As far a Satisfaction live, I disagree. Today that may be the case. They have just played it so many times (but I still like to hear it!) and it gets old for them to play it. The spark is not there anymore for this song. But in the sixties they really played this song better than any other Jagger/Richards number, IMO. I have an old boot which shows them playing it at three different shows. The way Keef cuts in with that lead guitar live is unlike anything anyone else was doing back then. Plus Brian's great rhythm guitar solo live throughout this song also makes it better than the studio cut. His rhythm guitar in the studio version just wasn't the same.
