: Joey!
: Since nobody has really answered your question I will settle your bet. This story IS CORRECT! While an engineer was cleaning up the master he spaced off where he had to start/stop (I am guessing) and did in fact accidently whipe off mick's vocal. Since he was in Australia filming Ned Kelly he was unavailable to rerecord a vocal and as the story goes, DECCA Records had to have the master NOW! So Keith recorded the lead vocal. Maxey,Capt Rollins and Tony are correct about Mick's version being on at least a couple of dozen boots! Luckily they had made some rough mix cassettes for the band to listen to.(fairly common practice) Later,Jimmy

PART TWO**********

I don't know if this is true or not but I am makeing an educated guess that it was probably this same engineer who accidently whiped the first second of the guitar part on the title song "Let it Bleed" Not the weird slide/back masked sort of guitars but after when you can very clearly hear the first chord get clipped.(that's why it makes that sound) They covered this by editing those first few seconds on. What I want to know is if this "engineer" was responsible for BOTH f-ups then did he still have a gig with the stones afterwards? Later, Jimmy
