: Reports *back then* from the people involved DO match up.

This is not true. More importantly did Frank really confess to killing Brian on his deathbed to his friend or did he not? His friend said he did, his family (who were not there when the two talked) said he didn't.

: Things have only changed recently with the spate of books that have been published in recent years. Suddenly people seem to be remembering the most minute details, 20-30 years after the fact! I find that a little far-fetched.

Once again, not true. These stories have been going around for years now.
I have a question for you Cindy: Why do you only believe some books you read but not others. I also don't want to see people just make a fast buck off of Brian's death with some phony story. Some of these books may be full of crap, but some of them may not. You got to look at all sides on this thing. If Brian really was murdered, how can he rest in peace or his fans or family be at peace with stories that just don't add up? As it was already pointed out a while back here, Brian was a counterculter outcast who the authorities were happy to be rid of and his case WAS handled poorly (to say the least) by the police who hated him.
