: He was definitely there for the recording and is more than likely on the final cut, but maybe not on guitar. I have heard so many stories about this song and who plays what. Brian did play the guitar for this song but it may have been edited out. When the song first came out I heard he played guitar and percussion. Then in the early 70s I heard percussion only. I do know that he plays guitar on the track that was recorded and used for the video. But like everthing else that happened in those '68 sessions, I don't think we will ever know for sure who played what. Lots of misinformation out there and even those who were there have said different things.
For the definitive gospel truth about how JJF was conceived and developed and just who indeed played what at the time, I recommend a perusal through Bill Wyman's Stone Alone(Now in Paperback and still a hot seller.)
