Perhaps younger women are indoctrinated with far too much pop feminist ideology in school, before (or more likely instead of) being prepared to understand and think critically about these issues with a good solid liberal arts background. Feminist influenced studies are an easy and narcissistic path to take. It also leads to knee jerk reactions and a lack of understanding of irony.

You may be right about that, I wasn't around so I don't know through personal experience. I still think that if this is the case, the lyrics were misunderstood, and nothing was really gained by avoidance.
