If it weren't for Altamont, Mick would have continued
much in the same vein that he was - drugs, pushing
the limits of chaos during shows etc. and would have
ended up much like Keith throughout the '70's...Altamont
shook Jagger so much that he revamped almost every single
thing about himself - he reinvented himself if you will
to avoid ever repeating that debacle. Where there was
once danger - there was a hint of comedy. While just a
year earlier he was smoking DMT, dropping acid and dabbling
in heroin - he stuck mainly to the mainstream drugs of
coke (that didn't hurt you back then) and booze. If it
weren't for Altamont, I wouldn't be so sure if there
would be a Stones today. Any takers?
