: Sorry if you find this "old news", Keno. I never claimed it was "new" news, just that I read it recently.

So then I guess it is new news to you. Sorry.

:Since some of his guitar parts WERE removed, guess it is entirely true.

Well for YCAGWYW no question. But then if you look at No Expectations, his guitar wasn't touched.

:How sad. Since Brian was instrumental in creating the tune, they still should have given him credit for it.

They didn't give him credit on any other songs he helped out on and I think most fans would agree that it was wrong, as it was wrong that MT, Bill, Charlie & Ronnie (at least early on) were never given credite for their work either.

:I think deleting his parts, then having the nerve to release with Mick T. so soon after he died is disrespectful, to say the least.

But the deleting of his guitar was done a full month before he died. HTW release date was set for July 3, weeks before Brian died. The fact he died the day the song came out made it impossiable to stop it's release. From what I read, over at the Stones offices that day everybody was in shock, people were crying and upset, the last thing on their minds was the release of HTW.

:It would have been so much more appropriate to leave Brian's guitar in, then release it after his death in memorium to him.

Agree, but not possiable. His guitar track was erased from what I have read. But if that isn't true, shit, I would love to hear it. But I don't know of any boots that have it, so it's more than likely not available.

:I'm not so sure about Keith not being meanspirited, when you consider him & Mick were dismissing alot of Brian's ideas, and if you read the interview he gave after Brian's death in "The First 20 Years"; it's hardly sensitive.

I was only talking about his handling of HTW. There is no question that Keith was meanspirted towards Brian in the late 60s and the main reason Brian wanted out of the group.

:On Exile, they list "Amyl Nitrate" on percussion; why not say who it was?

Agree. Richard Washington, who was the one listed as Amyl Nitrate, was so pissed off at the Stones for being listed as that, placed a voodoo curse on Mick & Keef (true story)!
