I really like your description of the Stones. I agree with every word.

I agree about what you said about the Who, except for not listening to them anymore. Tommy has not aged well - in fact, it died several years ago - but Quadrophenia is vastly underrated, as far as double albums it ranks just under Exile and London Calling. Who's Next? Man, if you can't play that around your friends, its time to get new friends.

I've never been able to get into the Dead. Too much California nonsense for me. They have NO guts whatsoever, thats for sure. Kenny G rocks harder than they do. I've seen them live a bunch of times, though. Either loved or hated them, depending on the day. Saw them in Vegas in 1992 and it was one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Sting opened and he blew them off the stage. I know everybody thinks its cool when Garcia starts tuning up in the middle of a song. But that day he was so blitzed that spent the entire show tuning up. Tough to take with no lysergic.
