In turn, the Flush in, flush out part could be about shooting up too. I always thought that Keith getting his "Rocks Off" while he "sleeping" or "dreaming" was a reference to him being on the "nod" from dope. "Mesmerized" "Hypnotized" etc. - this is a Keith song and is about how much he's digging Heroin in 1971-72.
