: The Stones were a opening act at one time if there were no opening acts how new talent get started?

Good point by you and turd but, its not like it was in the old days when the Stones first started out. Hell back in '63, there was only AM radio and AM only played singles, no album cuts at all. Most singles were two to three minutes long at most. FM rock stations were not around then and there was very, very little rock on the TV, almost none compared to today. To open for someone then was very important and did help make or break you. But after last night I realised what a waste to the fans the opening act is. I want what I'm paying for. If knocking off the opening act will give me even two more songs with the band I'm paying to see, then that is well worth it, IMO. Let the new bands get exposed on MTV or where ever, if they are really good they will make it anyway.
