You're right that Mick is press-conscious, but he's also very crowd-conscious, and if "Moonlight Mile" elicited looks of bewilderment from 3/4's of the audience, that would PARTLY explain why it's gone. The other part is that, if he's faithful to the SF version, Mick has to sign parts of MM in falsetto, which is very hard on the vocal cords and surrounding throat tissues, which his doctors could not allow. If you'll notice, he only uses that falsetto during the phrases "when the rain feels cold" and "on my radio", but not "may the ragpile of my shining clothes..." So I personally don't think he needs to do those earlier verses in falsetto, and frankly don't think they come off sounding as good as the non-falsetto verses.

For the same reason, incidentally--the need to protect his voice--I'd say there's zero chance we'll hear "Emotional Rescue" on this tour.

And as far as "You Got the Silver" is concerned, maybe Mick wants a two-song break and doesn't like hanging around playing guitar for Keith. Maybe Keith wanted to do it Sacramento; Mick refused; they had a row; and that would explain the on-stage ambience. I don't know; I wasn't there and am just speculating. BUT PLEASE, MICK, PLAY "MOONLIGHT MILE" AND GUITAR FOR KEITH ON "YOU GOT THE SILVER" THIS COMING THURSDAY NIGHT IN ANAHEIM!!!! Drop the falsetto and yet it'll still sound great--and all the LA music press will be listening.
