Some time ago Goldmine talked to Jim Keltner about this track. It seems Jim had some studio time available to him, and people would just stop by. It was a one off thing, and the end results are really pretty good. I think the best version I've heard is on Scorpio's A Shot of Salvation. The first time I heard it on that cd I couldn't believe how much better it sounded than my Trident Demos album.
But it's no substitute for the Stones. Keltner is a pretty good drummer in that Ringo Starr style, and it's just not for me.
