Maybe it has something to do with the fact that a lot of their songs can be considered a little sexist. Or a trifle too satanic..
The damn thing about Lennon/McCartney is that radio stations play every single song they wrote on a regular basis, even to this day. Should Bungalo Bill ever be played, anywhere? They get more credit than they deserve, but they are the most successful songwriting team ever, so that's what others will be measured against.
It doesn't matter. We still get to listen to Exile On Main St. any time we want. That's good enough for me.
