Actually, that's not quite true. After ABKCO's releases, Aftermath, Beggars, Let It Bleed, and Get Yer Ya Yas out were certified platinum in 1989. Of course the greatest hits albums (Hot Rocks, Fazed Cookies, and Through the Past Darkly) were, too. But strangely enough, Exile and Sticky Fingers never made it to platinum status, even though they were eventually re-released by Virgin. Maybe they'll make it now, now that the new re-mastered CDs are out. Meanwhile, the biggest sellers IN THE US ALONE (besides the greatest hits) CDs remaind:

1. Some Girls (6 million +)
2. Tattoo You (3 million +)
3. Steel Wheels (2 million +)
4. Voodoo Lounge (2 million +)

So it's clear they were on a popular upswing, only to falter with "Undercover," "Dirty Work," and "B2B"--all cut from the same mold of "we've got to do something that doesn't sound so much like the Stones."
