There was a cool story about the Stone's appearance on
SNL in 1978(?) in this week's Chicago Tribune. It was
part of an article on Don Novello who played Father
Guido Sarducci.
"During the eight or so sketches that Novello wrote for
the "Cheezborger"restaurant bits, one of the most
well-received was the time Mick Jagger and Charlie
Watts of the Rolling Stones played customers. It was
also supposed to feature a visit from Keith Richards.
Those plans hit a snag. "They came in to rehearse," Novello says. "And the idea was that they ordered hamburgers or whatever, and John Belushi kicks them out of the restaurant. Keith Richards says, "I don't want to do the sketch." Why not? He says, "Nobody kicks me out of no place." So he would't do it."
Pure Keith, huh?
