Sure Mick and Keith get the credit in the official and unofficial "press" -- but the only reason they do so is to hide the true core of the Rolling Stones, CHAZ (also known as The Man).
Early in 1963, his drumming cast a spell over all of the other band members and everything they have done since has been pre-orchestrated by Charlie.
They are all his Stepford bandmates and he uses them for his pleasure.
