After reading that many people's all time favorite Stones track is Sympathy...it got me to thinking...if it wasn't for the ingenuity of Charles Watts, that song may have fallen into Stones obscurity rather than becoming one of their most loved tunes...I've seen the film, and for my money, without Charlies input on this song, we'd be listening to a slower, folkier Sympathy now...I can damn near guarantee that (although they are brilliant) Keith and Mick DID NOT come up with the samba idea for that song. They just didn't have the musical breadth that they were to get in years to come at the time of Sympathy to make a drumming call like this. Once that beat came into play - it was all free sailing. So for all the people that complain that M.Taylor doesn't get enough song writing credit etc. - remember just how much Chucky Dubbyou has done for our ears.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.
