You're both wrong. The most important song ever written was "Happy Birthday." It's sung by more people more often than any other song on earth, and will be sung this coming January 1st, 2000 by ALL of us, to usher in the New Dawn of Utter Happiness=Technology Is the Pleasure Force of Music Era of Our Lives.

G&C

: : "Jumping Jack Flash". It brought the world out of the lame-ass psychedelica of the 60's and back to blues based rock and roll. It was an anthem, and solidified the Stones as the premiere rock band in the world. While the Beatles strayed from Rock, with varied results (some simply awful), the Stones took the lead and wrote a song that would forever change the face of music. I see "JJ Flash" as a pre-cursor for all hard rock and heavy metal. It set the stage for Zeppelin and the Who and later bands like Guns and Roses. This song has been covered by so many hard rock bands over the years, and for good reason. No wonder why it's Keith's favorite Stones song...

: cmon, man, everyone knows that the most important song ever written was boyce/hart "im not your stepping stone" covered by the heartbreakers, the sex pistols and, of course, the Monkees
