Because I had the same problem in Chicago. But I had a reserved seat but didn't want to miss anything so I went pee in my beer cup. It was dark.
But your wonderful post was in the afternoon.
Besides the pissing, I could easily picture the scene w/ your post.
You also mentioned that they didn't leave their hotel until late. Thats expected.
Durring the 78 era, they wrote more songs in their history than ever before.
Maybe due to Keith kicking heroin or the intro of cocaine to the main stream (but I read that Mick was doing large amounts of cocaine durring the 69 tour) or maybe the new lay in Micks life...a young Jerry Hall w/ fresh legs.
But the 78 tour was my fave. I was only 8 then but, the Some Girls album played live and the greatest hits are unmatched even pre 78 live is not as raw, garadgish or to lets say a blind person who would think Mick turned into a black man durring that tour. Gotta love Micks lazy howl durring 78.
