2Kman,Rat,Addict,I'm really touched that you've taken the time and trouble to give some thought to my forthcoming adventure.In fact,I'm overcome with emulsion.
As the hour doth approach,I find myself getting a tad nervous.I've got a case of Bud,and as backup a pack of "Beers of the World" left over from the holidays.For spirits there's whisky(note lack of "e")some Cuervo Especial,and some Jack Daniel's.I would have to say that I wish it was Wild Turkey,but I gave up on that after an incident with my brother in law and a couple from Wales.It would appear that the Welsh view of what is acceptable behaviour at New Year differs radically from the Scottish one.Addict,Retsina ouzo and that cheap brandy that the Greeks produce are complete no no's;stay well clear of them.
As for more exotic ingestibles,I have a fine selection which I won't run down, as there's no point in incriminating myself.Needless to say,the only thing missing is the Samoan Lawyer.Oh,I gave up on cough mixtures after they stopped selling the behind the counter Benilyn.So none of that.
Well that's it for preperations,so let's see what happens.One thing that won't is canoeing.I've sat in too many remote bothies watching hypothermic canoeists stagger in at all hours of the morning having spent half the night on a freezing loch.Bad idea!
