RE: Some pointers

I'm afraid I'll have to disagree about Let it Be. When I first heard that they were gonna remix it, I thought, Oh no man! But then I remembered how "Long and Winding Road" "I Me Mine" "Dig It" "Across the Universe" and "Let it Be" were gutted by Phil Specter, and I liked it a lot better. The order seems to work better for some reason, I love how "Get Back" starts off well and how "Let it Be" ends with a bang.

I'm sorry, but the songs sound better than the original album. "Get Back" has been cleaned up and sounds great, and so has "I Dig a Pony" which is Awesome! Another thing you'll notice is that all the production notes are gone: "I dig a pigme by Charles Haldre of the Deaf Age: Phase one in which Dorris Gets her oats!" What the fuck does that mean? It doesn't do anything except delay the great more well mixed version of "Two of Us". "The Long and Winding Road" is SO MUCH BETTER, with a newly discovered solo by BILLY PRESTON which is fucking great! They also took out the strings for "I Me Mine" and I'm glad they did. But what sounds the best on this album is "Across the Universe" which included stupid strings and a choir and a chorus effect on the guitar and John's voice. Now it's just the guitar and voice dry, but there's something else, a SITAR by George which is so cool, but inaudible on the original version! And of course "Let it Be" has been fixed up.

I still long to hear the full version of "Dig It" but if they're just gonna put fourty-five seconds of it on an album which is absolutley ridiculous, no thanks! "Maggie May" is a nothing song and I'm glad they took it out. They did include the great song that John wrote called "Don't Let Me Down!" I love how it works with the album!

Anyway, back to Exile on Main Street. Keno, you know I'm on your side about Exile and I don't love it (I do like it) so I'm not speaking for myself, just for everyone else, since apparently I'm wrong about the album. Still, I must have listened to the album 53 times and I still can't get over the mix and the filler songs! (Yes, they ARE filler songs, it's what happens when you make a double album) According to Keith, Jimmy Miller was too drugged out at the time and they had to mix the album all by themselves which never works.

Mick could have sang better on some of the songs, but still, it's inaudible on some songs! Where is he on "Hip Shake"? Well that's my spheal, you may continue with your accusations of me being a which
