I've always loved The Beatles LET IT BE, but when I heard the LET IT BE NAKED, I was overjoyed! I love that they remixed that album because IT NEED IT!!!!!!!! The Stones should remix Exile. According to the book: According to the Rolling Stones, Mick thinks that Exile has some of the worst mixes ever, and he'd love to hear a remix of it. He can't understand why fans love the album so much, well sorry Mick, we all love it (well.... I'm getting close to loving it, I just can't get over the filler songs and the mixes, such is a reason as to why it should be remixed) Maybe Mick will like it better redone.
First of all, I agree with Mick about the mixes: "Rip this Joint" is a good song, but it's a jumbled mess! They should really clean it up! Same with "Hip Shake". Another good tune, but Mick's voice is burried in the mix and has too much reverb. Also, all the instruments should be panned or something so that they are audible. Make it like it was on Sticky Fingers or Ya's Ya's. Keith is on the right speaker of you stereo, and Mick Taylor is on the left! It's that simple! And boost up the bass, it's non-exsistant like Mick's vocals.
I'd also like it if they didn't fade out everything! I'd love to hear the rest of the classic "Shine a Light". Sounded like Billy Preston was about to do something right when they faded out. Also, fix up the backing vocals so they don't overpower Mick's already non-exsistant vocal track.
And of course, they could get rid of the filler songs like "Casino Boogie" "Sweet Black Angel" and "Turd on the Run" and a few others because I end up skipping them anyway! But maybe they'll sound better remixed, even though I don't like the fact that they don't go anywhere or have any kind of vamp. Maybe they could put a coulple of the songs that were recorded during that time that was never on Exile or one of the other albums. Also maybe put some live tracks from their great live concert in 1972! Just a thought!
I hope they do remake this album, and maybe a few others like Goat Heads Soup and It's Only Rock 'n Roll. Mick would be proud!
