It's funny how 2 Stones fans can look at the very same picture and see 2 totally different things at the very same time! SAL has a 24 point lead over CDA as I type this out, and not only didn't I expect to see such a large lead for it, to you it's a "close" race for the top spot!
But I think the main thing is that to me, CDA is the much better song, I always felt SAL was somewhat overrated while CDA was underrated, and now after running this poll, in my mind there's no question about it! Keith Richards doesn't really write too many songs that allows his true emotions to show, yet in this song he did just that. He also, for one of the few times in his life, noted that he stole somebody else's love away from them. "Slipped my tongue in someone else's pie". Yes Keith, you did do,that, didn't you? About the only other time he was as honest about that dirty deed which he did, was in the doc 25x5, when he stated that he didn't blame Brian for being so mad and upset with him for his doing that and with BJ never wanting to talk to him again because of it. I've always felt and said that it takes a true man to say that you're sorry, or to at least admit that you made a mistake, or that you did wrong, and he did admit that he did wrong when he made that statement. Unlike the BS statement he made early on that he was just saving her from some guy who was abusing her. Anita made that clear after she broke up with Keith (and before Keith paid her off for life to never speak about the love triangle again), that what went down between her and Brian was nothing more than an equal deal between the 2 of them, since she was beating him right back at the same time, as they were both into that kind of thing. I think to most people (and I know for myself), that is a very sick way to treat the person you love. But some couples do stuff like that to each other and actually still very much love each other. Sick? Well to me and most of you, yes, but as long as the people involved want to be that way towards each other, is it any of my or your business? Plus remember, Keith was into that too, or at the least part way, as he beat Anita himself once she was his - even in public in front of people - while others watched. I think that was what always got to me, that he put down his friend publicly for beating on his gal, while he did the very same thing to the very same person himself, once she was his.
