I ended up at the neighbors party last night and I realized what a great hood we all live in here. Really a good group of sane people living in this neck of the woods.
Then late this morning (NYD morning that is) I was clearing some snow off the back deck by my back door. I'm the only one who ever uses the back door it seems, but my weather station is located out in the back, so I use it everyday and needed to clear a path. So anyway, after I cleared the steps, I headed down them and on the second to last one, slipped on it and fell down real hard, hitting the back of my head on the already half broken log step - splitting it into a few pieces, while my butt hit and broke the bottom step a bit! How I didn't break my hip or a leg I don't know, but no real injuries at all, but damn did the back of my head hurt! Yet other than a slight headache, that was it. But the new year was only a few hours old and I had to go and have a bad fall already! I just hope that isn't some kind of bad omen as to what's ahead for me in '19. But I'm still looking for a peaceful year ahead with mainly just good things happening for me and mine. Yet that's no way to start off the new year!
