A great group coming out of the mid-60's British invasion. Had a couple hits on this side of the pond. Their sound was distinctive, not so jangly like many of the Brit bands but more jazzy. A few years later they released the Odyssey & Oracle album, considered by many to be a masterpiece and ironically recorded during a time when the group had agreed to throw in the towel. "Time of the Season" was their final hit from that album. Keyboard whiz and leader Rod Argent went on to form Argent. And today 3 of the original 5 members are touring again as the Zombies, including lead singer Colin Blunstone. As to whether they are more deserving than the Guess Who, that's an open question, but I would venture to say that both bands have considerably more rock cred than artists such as Janet Jackson, Abba, and a few others.
