I didn't always agree with his politics, but he seemed to be a decent individual who put his country first. He volunteered for service in WWII right out of high school and flew dozens of combat missions under heavy fire. Bush 41 struck up a lasting friendship with the guy who defeated him (Bill Clinton), and they collaborated on a number of humanitarian causes over they ears. Given the absurd monstrosity of the fake president we're currently stick with, I'm almost nostalgic for guys like "Poppy". R.I.P.
