I totally disagree! In all due respect gomper, you don't live in the U.S.. If all of the other countries can and do stop this from happening, then so can those of us who live in the U.S. - we can do the same thing those of you do in your countries. But these kind of killings only happens regally here in the U.S. and nowhere else, and it isn't because we are bad people here in this country, it's because of who is in charge here - period!
Problem also is, if you could magically change the laws tomorrow, you'd still have literally hundreds of millions of assault weapons and other guns out there for use.
Now this I agree on to a point, but, the mentally ill nut who just goes out and buys a gun from a gun store a week before he commits his act and who commits most of these shootings, will be stopped by stronger laws. It's a fact that most of these killings aren't done by normal gun owners, the only one that I can think of was in Connecticut, where that 19 year old nutcase was trained by the NRA, and then he killed all of those babies in their kindergarten class (and America did nothing about it - shame on us!). But the rest of these madman mainly got their guns just days before. The Las Vegas killer might have also been another gun owner, too, I can't recall what the deal was on that nut. But all of them got one thing in common - they are all nuts and most of them were't true gun owners. But they all were crazy, and crazy people should be stopped and not allowed to own or buy guns - ever!
