Correct FB, the Stones started to do that very early on - and they covered it up, too, back then.
I at first flat out hated when any rocker sold their music for commercial use, kinda like how Neil Young wrote that song about it in the early '80s (what was it's title again?, "This note's for you" maybe?). But in time, back in the '70s, I recall something my mom said to me when an old song from the 1920s or '30s was being used in a TV commercial, and how it was both funny and sad how the kids only knew the song in that matter. It got me thinking that maybe doing this was okay, since I would had never had known the song if not for the commercial. So where I used to hate that, today I like it, since it's the only way for young kids to get to know some old songs.
