My favorite Gilda Radner spoof was when she on SNL and played that senile lady - Emily Litella, on the show's newscast back when Chevy Chase played the anchorman in the 1970s - in the show's earliest days. She would comment on editorials she disagreed with what she actually just heard wrong. The one about violins on TV was the best of 'em, where she is criticizing the news station for taking a stand on their editorial calling to remove violins on TV until after 10 PM at night so little children won't see them on TV anymore. Emily was of course outraged by this and had to have to explained to her half way thru her rebuttal by Chevy that the editorial was actually about restricting "violence" on television, and not violins! Her respond was alwasy "Oh, well that's different, never-mind". Here is a one minute plus clip on this: Weekend Update: Emily Litella on television violins Gilda was a wonderful person and she did indeed die way too young.
