Scottish music, or well, at least music made by Scots. What is purely scottish music, anyway? Does it have to be traditional or can it be anything, just as long as it isn't from anywhere else? In any case, my "lately listens" in terms of genre are alternative rock, shoegaze, twee indie and goth new wave which morphed into progressive dream pop; and the bands (in like order) are Travis, Jesus and Mary Chain, Camera Obscura, and the mighty mighty Cocteau Twins. There are not an overly huge amount of bands I love from Scotland, but the ones I do are intensely and deeply loved.
