Ahhh, this post reignites the bonfire that was this past April for me, some of which I posted about here. If anyone recalls, manny persuaded me to get into US garage (freakbeat i guess?) and early psychedelia via the Nuggets collection. I absorbed enormous amounts of it and Psychotic Reaction got particularly heavy airplay, along with the Blues Magoos and the Electric Prunes. Also "Maid of Sugar" by Mouse and the Traps, in addition to the Remains, the Seeds, and the Chocolate Watchband. After I burned myself out on the US discs, I downloaded the British Nuggets, but was too overwhelmed by it to really begin and thus haven't gotten back to it as of yet. (Though I did play the hell out of Q65 (Revolution, which may not be British but is pretty close, both in sound and location!) But yeah, in general, I can see why '65 was important too.
