Many people forget but Frank at one point told casino owners that he would not perform for them unless they treated Sammy Davis Jr like everyone else......
Milton Berle got so fed up with protesters in front of a nightclub (?) protesting SDJr's patronage there and being served, that he confronted them, grabbed the flyers they were passing out and went ballistic tearing them up, yelling & cursing and kicking the papers.
I've always liked Milton Berle.
Pastorius has been called "the Jimi Hendrix of bass". That guy was absolutely amazing. I had purchased his big bands CD from the old Border Books & Music. (I do miss that place.)
Unfortunately he had some mental issues, and ended up dying in a hospital after getting severely beaten by a bouncer at a nightclub in Florida. While in a coma he suffered a brain hemorrhage and passed away. He was only 35 years old.
I especially loved his work with Weather Report. He really shined on the 'Heavy Weather' album.
