It's been on the hot side here in Colorado this summer, but never muggy, not once in the 40 plus years I've lived here (and one of the main reasons why I live here). The biggest problem here is the smoke and haze from wildfires. Earlier in the summer it was from the fires burning here in the state, but most of them are out now, and we're getting the smoke now from the California fires. Haven't been able to see the mountains to our west and southwest in the morning hours for the last several days cause of the heavy haze. Then all of this adds up to air pollution too, something that we don't ever have otherwise.
There's that big Perseid meteor shower happening next week and this is usually the best places on Earth to watch for shooting stars, but if the smoke and haze doesn't clear up, it's gonna be like trying to view them from a city sky with the haze instead of city lights getting in the way here, which usually means it ain't worth wasting your time watching. Just hope the wind shifts and we get a easterly breeze so the skies will clear up before the event, since I don't think those fire will be burned out in a week.
