From the Fall of 1962, novelty specialist Ray Stevens's Furthermore. It came out right after his first Top-ten hit from the Summer of that year, Ahab The Arab.
Ray Stevens is a guy whose music I enjoyed so much through the years.
He's best known for novelty records, including "The Streak", a huge #1 from 1974, and many more. Gitarzan from 1969 is really cool!
He's had a few serious songs out too, like the #1 "Everything Is Beautiful" from '71, and the criminally underrated Mr. Businessman from 1968, a huuuge favorite of mine!
Anybody else here dig Ray Stevens?
I discovered "Furthermore" from listening to KD RADIO, an internet Oldies station. They deserve a nod here.
In my most humble fact, KD Radio.com is simply the best Oldies station anywhere on this planet.
They play everything, including deep cuts (like 'Furthermore' which only peaked at #91), and the deejays ID each record they play, and tell you what year it was out.
Anyone who loves the Oldies should know about KD Radio.
On my Ipad 4 I had to install Tune-in Radio from the Apple Store to hear it.
