You know how throughout the years a song would come out paying tribute to the Rock 'n' Roll era, or specific artists?
Good examples are: "Rock and Roll Heaven" by the Righteous Brothers,
"Drift Away" by Dobie Gray,
From 1974 "Life Is A Rock (But The Radio Rolled Me)" by REUNION=(comprised of members of The Ohio Express and The 1910 Fruitgum Company), -- here's a great video!
And there's been many more.
Well, have you ever wondered what was the FIRST song in the R&R era paying tribute to Rock & Roll??? 🤔.......probably not. 😲
Well, here's my guess, and being that the R&R era started in 1955, I think it's amazing that a tribute song for it came out in early 1956!!! Incredible. And by WHO of all people? Perry Como. You read it right, Perry Como.
It's a terrific song, please check it out --- "Juke Box Baby" by PERRY COMO. It was actually a 'B' side that became a double-sided hit and peaked at #10.
