Keno, yes, Canada is definitely are a Monarchy here in Canada, legally and constitutionally. I grew up singing God Save The Queen every day, but we don't do that anymore. But the Queen is on our money, our signs, legal documents, emblems, you name it, she's everywhere. If you are charged with a crime its YOU versus The Crown. But all this begs many questions. What really is the Monarchy? Does the Queen actually have any real power in Canada? The real and short answer is... NO. And, in fact, she is no more than a figurehead in her own country. To look at the great and glorious facade that surrounds the Royal Family you would not think that, but its true.
Nice to have a holiday weekend. We need more days off. I fundamentally believe that people these days work harder than ever and are more stressed out than ever. So an extra day here and there is very helpful.
