Not strictly toward age-gaps, but otherwise this post DID become a book! By Michael Pollan. What do you think of psychedelics the way in which he's written about them? I've read a few of his other books and he seems like a very thoughtful guy. He is less of strict "skeptical" journalist than he makes out in the below article, as he has always had an interest in drugs, having written previously in-depth on cannabis and opium. But in general, do you think taking psychedelics is useful the way he describes? Or, because of your own previous writings, do you think we can talk to our ego and come to an understanding with it withOUT the use of psychedelics? To me this is somewhat interesting. I have a friend who raved about a group ayahuesca session but I wonder if plain nature exposure and personal effort can do it too. Regardless, one thing is certain: not enough people are thoughtful and curious about things, simply content to get caught up in endlessly doing and mindlessly collecting possessions.
