The Dick Carpenter Trio (nsc)

Before the two siblings were known to the world as the Carpenters in 1969, they were The Dick Carpenter Trio in 1968. Outstanding musicianship. Sorry this piece of film is blurry, but it's still fun to watch, and not only showcases Richard's mastery of the keyboards, but also what an accomplished drummer Karen was.

Here they are, winning an award for their rendition of Dancing In the Street! 👍

Here's another award-winning performance and this video is a little less blurry. Same song, different show.

All I can say is WOW! 😺

Some time in the late 70s Playboy magazine ran a music poll where Karen was ranked ahead of John Bonham for best drummer. (Was that an annual poll?) Bonham didn't like that at all.
