I think the wrongness or rightness about power differentials and potential for exploitation in relationships is in how much of it there is. But this is very hard to quantify. So we have some pretty basic things like age minimums in order to legally engage in relationships and marriage. While Page has hundreds of millions of dollars and global fame, his partner certainly does not. He could be seen to be exploiting her for her lack or power in order to have an attractive young woman in his life, or is she taking advantage of that desire to have access to his lifestyle? I don't know.
Problem is, where would we draw the line in these things. If an uneducated laborer with a markedly low IQ dates a doctor, is that a problem?
These are all tough questions.
I'm happily married and in my late 40s. But I can only imagine if I was single and dating a 19 year old. People would really be aghast and I wouldn't want to have to face the parents of the 19 year old either. It would be a perfectly legal relationship, but people would not accept it.
