Okay so you asked why I said violent.....
First verse:
“I once had a girl
Or should I say she once had me
She showed me her room
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?”
Final verse:
“And when I awoke I was alone
This bird had flown
So I lit a fire
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?”
He lit a fire? After sleeping in the bath....and then he says “Isn’t it good Norwegian wood?
So did he burn the Norwegian wood for his fire? Sure seems like a valid conclusion to draw...or it’s just John playing? Did John use that last line as a double entendre? Probably so.....
Does it mean he burnt the place down? not nessisarily...Norewegian wood could be a piece of Scandinavian furniture. Which is what I always thought it was about.....
Never knew Paul commented on what John intended about this song’s lyrics.
That’s the thing about art, it open for interpretation, and all interpretations are valid.
So maybe ‘violent’ was a poor choice of words on my part...in my defense I was typing that in my phone...and switching between my browser and music to see the songs (not an excuse, but an explanation). Perhaps petulant is a better choice of words?
