How about the married songwriting team of Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, they wrote a ton of great hits for other people, including "Da Doo Run Run" and "Then He Kissed Me" by the Crystals, "Do-Wah-Diddy" originally done by the Exciters and a little later covered by Manfred Mann for a #1 single, "People Say" and "Chapel of Love" by the Dixie Cups, "Be My Baby" by the Ronetts, "Leader of the Pack" and many more memorable hits!
Well, they recorded some singles for themselves too, under the pseudonym The Raindrops. One of those is a huuuge favorite of mine >===> "The Kind of Boy You Can't Forget" which peaked at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100. That's not too bad, but should have gone a lot higher Ronnie!!! 🤷♂️
