Who's a square? 🤓 👨💼 In the early to mid 1960s, maybe even before (?), someone who was labeled a square, a well-known yet pejorative word, meant "a person considered to be old-fashioned or boringly conventional in attitude or behavior." It was a popular term, even mentioned on the Flintstones.
Anywho, I just learned that the 1965 super-hit by Sam the am & the Pharaohs "Wooly Bully" has a reference to that term. The second verse ends with ".....let's not be L7, come and learn to dance." It's important that the 'L' is capitalized.
Well, if you put the 'L' and the '7' together, they kinda make a square.
'L7' is another way of saying being a 'square'. I never knew that. 🤦♂️
