Thanks everyone for your kind words and thoughtfulness. The first thing that popped in my head when my oncologist gave me the news was the song by Tom Petty, "I Won't Back Down". And I haven't. I can't. I think the worst thing about this all is that I look ill. I've gone from 163 lbs to 117, then back up a few pounds. I've gone from size XL in shirts to M. I'm now a wimp! I look like a WWII death camp survivor.

Let me say this then I'll shut up about it: stomach cancer is hereditary. My dad died of it, and he had a sister who died of it in the early 60s.
