RE: RE: RE: Elton John (nsc)

All of Elton's early LPs are 100% rock and roll, just give them a listen. "Crocodile Rock" is as '50s rock as you can get, even if it wasn't released in the '50s. Plus, although I have no clue how he is live today, now that he is in his 70s, but back in the early 1970s when I first saw him, he was totally insane live, jumping in the air while playing his piano while never missing a note on the piano while airborne. Two of the greatest Rock concerts I ever saw was both put on by he, and I've seen many great rock concerts. But when he played MSG on Thanksgiving, I'm thinking it was in '73??? or '74???, I'm real bad in getting the year right on most past concerts that I've seen, no matter how great they were, but at that Thanksgiving show, and while none of us expected it, half way through the show and out of nowhere, comes John Lennon with guitar in hand to play on a few songs! One of the greatest moments and surprises that I ever got to witness! But even if Lennon haven't been at that show, it still would have been one of the best rock shows I ever saw anyway, along with the other times I got to see him live, too.

Back in those days the man just knew how to perform live, and he had a great band to back him, too. Really Fatmo, give him a try again, at least for his stuff made before 1980 or so. I really know little of him after that, some good songs here and there after that time, and I bet today he can't jump up and down in the air like he used to, I'm sure he'd break a hip today if he tried to do that! Plus his voice has changed some with age, not to say he doesn't still sound good, but he does sound a bit different today. Yet SW, if you can, do go see him, I bet he still puts on a good show today anyway, even if he is an old man now.
