I gotta admit, if you had asked me about these guys like these a year ago I would have naively said that supposedly classy guys like George Bush Sr, Charlie Rose, Dustin Hoffman, Ben Affleck, Kevin Spacey, and Sentaor Al Franken were not the types who would assault or harass women. But they are among the very long list of guys just accused this year. Its been a watershed year for this. Still, some people are talking like its something new, and it isn't. And nor is our awareness of these things or our collective condemnation. Many years ago Senator Bob Packwood was forced out for harassing all kinds of women, and there have been tons of other cases.
There really is no one single profile for a guy who does this stuff. The only caveat I might offer to observers is that while all of these cases are situations where the allegations are indeed real offences that deserve investigation and, if found guilty, proper sanctions, they are not all the same.
These guys should be kicked out of their professional organisations if they did this on the job with colleagues, and and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Too bad we can't kick out Trump for this, as his record is up there with the worst of them.
