RE: Thanksgiving nsc

Good for you Manny!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday out of all of them, and in the past my home was full to the rim with family and friends each year, since most who know me (and who knew my late wife) knew how good a cook I am (or the 2 of us were) and my place was where to be on feast day... Although now in the last 2 or 3 years, I only have my oldest daughter, her old man, and my grandson eating here, along with just a few friends invited over joining us, and that's it, instead of having a full house of people anymore. So it looks like a total of just 10 or 11 people this year to cook for.... I just can't get into cooking anymore these days for more than that many people, it's just too much work for this old man. So instead of a 20 plus pound bird, well I'm going turkey shopping tomorrow (if it doesn't snow) and will buy a turkey that's a lot smaller, like around 15 pounds will do fine. Then there's all the other cooking to do, so it's usually one hell of a busy day in the kitchen cooking everything else (other than I bake the pies the night before).

So Thanksgiving is actually a busy work day for me cooking, at least until the bird is done (I get the others to do the cleanup afterwards). But I have plenty of loud music playing throughout the house in the background as I cook, along with a lot of legal weed being smoked by the adults, to set up a great appetite, with also some booze being drank too, just not by me. I can cook high on weed with no problem, but not while drinking, and who wants to fill up on booze before eating a big dinner anyway? Not me. I like to keep room for the meal and nothing more on this special day. So I look forward to next Thursday, for sure!
