RE: RE: RE: the who first lp,,,nsc

The first LP "The Who Sings My Generation" in '65 was raw and ahead of its time for its use of guitar feedback, power chords, and aggressive drumming, and revealed Pete Townshend as a songwriter to be reckoned with. The second LP "Happy Jack" ("A Quick One" in the UK) was a departure in that all 4 members of the band contributed material and lead vocals. It was toned down from the debut LP but the songs were well-crafted and stylistically it was a lead-in to the third LP "Sell Out", a pop-commercial concept album of sorts, and considered by many to be among The Who's best work.
