Barry Fey was a good guy indeed! I got to know him a bit back in the late '70s when I was the ticket manager for this promo company based in Colorado Springs which booked dates on the entire Front Range. We did several shows one year (in 1978?) for Marty Robbins, which all sold out instantly. It turned out Fey was a fan and asked for some tickets, so I got to deal with him on that request. In turn for the tickets, he would work with ne and my company on helping us book more acts at larger venues around Denver. I recall my boss being so impressed that I got involved with Fey in this matter, that I was promoted to being the second banana in the business (I think he was afraid I might jump ship and go work for Fey!) after the concerts were over. So I got to hang with him a couple of times after that, but I never did work for him.
